Today in Math we continued working on 7.2. We were doing questions 4,6,7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, and 17 on page 258, 259, and 260. After you were done those questions you were to self correct and if you had any wrong you were to figure out what you did wrong and fix it.
If you know the formula's for finding the volume for rectangular prisms, triangular prisms, and eventually cylindrical prisms you pretty much know the unit.
The formula for finding the volume of a rectangular prism is: lxwxh.
The formula for finding the volume of a triangular prism is:(basexheight divided by 2)
The formula for finding the volume of a cylindrical prism(cylinder) is: (pie x radius squared x height)
For question 10 you were to find out the volume of the empty space of each object. Here is how you would do a)
a) 4/5 full of facial tissues
The first thing you would do is go (lxwxh)
(10x10x10)=1000
Since you want to figure out how much empty space your calculating you go 5/5-4/5=1/5
Since you want to figure out the amount of empty space in the box you would take 1000/1 x 1/5 because the 1/5 is the amount of empty space.
1000/1x1/5=1000/5=200/1
200cm3 is the amount of empty space in the tissue box
ELA- Today in ELA we went to the computer to type up our newspaper articles.
Hopefully I did an alright job in explaining everything.
Generally good job Andrea. My only suggestion would be for you to space out your formulas a little more.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea , my name is Jerick from sargent park in grade 8 . I would like to say that you did an excellent job ! Explantions are done better that alright , and the pictures and font colour is a great touch . Good Job!
ReplyDeleteHi I'm Vicky from Sargent Park in grade 8. My class is still in chapter 5 so I will assume your work is correct. Good job on posting the picture so people have a better understanding of what you're saying. Try to avoid bright fonts, because they're kind of hard to read and colours should be used for highlighting. You should also space out your formulas more, because I got confused there a bit. Well over all great job! :)
ReplyDeleteHI I'm Kaitlin from Sargent Park in grade 8. You did a great job on posting the pictures. But some of the fonts were to bright, but other than that i thought it was great :]
