Due for tomorrow is the 7.1 sheet, if you are done that you can start on 7.2 in the textbook. You must do 2 practice, 3 apply, and 2 extend questions from this chapter and you must get them all right after you correct them with the answers in the back of the book before you can move to 7.3. You must do the same in this chapter. In science we worked on the density sheet.
Remember to get your ski trip forms and money in and badminton players also must get forms and the $5 in by next Wednesday.
We did the wind up for the class Olympics in the afternoon and had lots of fun with tug-o-war, speed skating, and GT racing. Hope Thebes wins the gold.

Newspapers
Lately in E.L.A. class we have been learning: memorizing words eg. cutline (a.k.a. caption), city editor, columnist and we've also read and summarized and much more. Today we were to make up a caption to a picture from a recent newspaper. We got a picture and a little piece of paper. The paper we folded in half and on one side we made a possible caption for the picture. On the other side we put a humor caption. Can you make a caption (humor or not) for this picture?

5...is the dream still alive?
Long way to go 8O, but I am guessing that a group of you may be watching the Canada - Russia match and might be posting afterwards. Last I checked, score was 7-3 Canada.
As CP says (shouts) "Go Canada Go!"
Good luck.

End of the Unit

Math- On Friday we learned how to find the surface area of a cylinder.
To find the surface area of a cylinder you need to know 3 different formulas:
A=pie(3.14)*radius(r)2(squared), A=l*w, A=circumferance*w.
!st Step: draw a net of the cylinder.
2: find the radius of one of the circle so you can find the area of it. To find the area, times the radius by itself and times that by pie. Double this answer to have the surface area of both circles.
3:find the surface area of the rectangle. To do this times the diameter of the circle by pie, times that by the width of the rectangle and you have the surface area.
4:add the answer from step 2 and 3 and you have the surface area of a cylinder.
Homework- Page 186 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 if you are done you can start the review.
ELA- We started our rough copies on "What makes a true Friend". Remember to type your good copies on the computer and to double space.
